Bruce Springsteen and Noah Kahan Perform at Sea.Hear.Now Afterparty

Bruce Springsteen Rocks the Sea.Hear.Now Festival

Before headlining the Sea.Hear.Now Festival on Sunday, Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance at Stone Pony in Asbury Park for an afterparty.

Danny Clinch, who often works with Springsteen and started the festival, hosted the event. It was called “the Ocean Ave Stomp,” featuring Tangiers Blues Band and special guests like Noah Kahan, Robert Randolph, Jake Clemons, and more. They played songs by Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, and John Lee Hooker.

With Bruce on the mic, they performed hits like “Lucille” by Little Richard, “Boom Boom Boom” by Hooker, “Gloria” by Them, and “Down the Road a Piece.”

Noah Kahan also joined in, singing Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues.”

Bruce and the E Street Band just finished their U.S. tour and were ready to perform at Sea.Hear.Now. Clinch told Rolling Stone that getting Bruce to play wasn’t hard. He said, “So this time around, we were looking for our headliners, and he was going to be on the East Coast, and his tour was going to end on the 13th of September. So we’re like, ‘Oh man, this looks like a good opportunity to hit him up.’”

Fans are excited to see Bruce back in action!

Clinch mentioned talking to Bruce at his place and inviting him to the festival. He recalled Bruce saying, “Yeah, that’d be cool.” Later, Bruce confirmed, “I’m gonna do the thing on the beach. I’m going to Sea.Hear.Now. I want to bring the band on the beach. This could be incredible.”

Saturday’s performance was Springsteen’s first at Stone Pony in nearly five years. He last played there in November 2019 for a private benefit show.
