Chappell Roan’s ‘Midwest Princess’ Spotify Streams Doubled This Summer

She just had the most-streamed album in the U.S. on Spotify, surpassing Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish.

Chappell Roan is having a big moment this summer with her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which saw its streams double over the last two months, according to Spotify.

Starting June 1, the album’s streams jumped by 100% in the U.S., with Roan performing at major events like Governor’s Ball and Lollapalooza, drawing huge crowds.

This week, Midwest Princess became the most-streamed album in the country, beating big names like Swift and Eilish, while also climbing to Number Four on Billboard’s 200 Albums chart.

It’s amazing how fast things can change for an artist.

Over the same period, “Pink Pony Club” saw its streams increase by 220%, and “Hot to Go” by 135%. As of Monday, “Good Luck, Babe” topped Spotify’s U.S. Top 50 and was fifth globally. Meanwhile, “Hot to Go” and “Pony Club” held spots 10 and 12 respectively in the U.S. chart, with three more songs in the top 50.

Roan, alongside Sabrina Carpenter, is leading a new wave of pop stars, easing industry fears about the lack of rising talent in recent years.
