Coldplay Promotes ‘Moon Music’ Album on QVC and Tonight Show

Coldplay’s 10th album, “Moon Music,” has been released with Chris Martin hinting at only two more albums to come.

The band, known for mixing things up, did something unique on QVC to promote their new music. They not only performed an acoustic version of “feelslikeimfallinginloveĆ¢ā‚¬Ā but also sold quirky items like a toaster that prints “Moon Music” on bread and a tea set with album art. During the show, they also sang with a choir and took fan calls.

Over on The Tonight Show, Martin reappeared as his character Nigel. Previously seen in a Las Vegas karaoke bar, Nigel was just another face in the crowd until Jimmy Fallon called him on stage, noticing his red balloon and keyboard.

Nigel’s performance was hilariously off-script, turning Taylor Swift’s “Blank SpaceĆ¢ā‚¬Ā into a tune about parking spots and The Beatles’ “Yellow SubmarineĆ¢ā‚¬Ā into a vision of a future underwater New York. You can imagine he doesn’t earn much from busking!

Fans love how Coldplay is having fun while sharing their music in different ways.

Later in the show, Martin ditched his disguise to chat about Coldplay’s future. He said, “This is a bit hippie, maybe, for The Tonight Show, but I don’t really know where songs come from.Ć¢ā‚¬Ā He shared that they’re aiming for 12 albums, with number 11 being a musical and the final one a simple bedroom recording. After that, they’ll explore new musical paths.

The band continues to collaborate widely, including artists like Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna, and Tini on their single “We Pray.Ć¢ā‚¬Ā On The Tonight Show, Fallon joined Martin in imitating voices like Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan.

For Martin, Coldplay is all about doing what feels right. In a chat with Rolling Stone, he mentioned, “What we are, as a band, is a band who are committed to doing what feels right at the time and following the songs.Ć¢ā‚¬Ā

This approach has led to working with many artists, including Avicii and BTS. Martin explained that their band identity has grown, saying, “If we said, Ć¢ā‚¬ĖœOh, we want to do a song with One Direction,’ no one would think anything of it. I don’t think that’s possible right now, because they’ve gone in five directions. But it’s fun to let the band grow.Ć¢ā‚¬Ā
