Cyndi Lauper brought Hayley Williams on stage for a surprise performance of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” during her concert in Nashville.
Five years earlier, Williams sang the same hit with Kacey Musgraves at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Lauperās farewell tour, which promises special guests at each venue, has already featured Amanda Shires in Washington, D.C., and Sam Smith joining her for “Time After Time” in New York.
Fans love when singers bring unexpected guests to their shows.
Before her big show at MSG, Lauper shared with Rolling Stone her excitement for the tour, saying itās like ticking things off a wish list. Sheās thrilled to have many talented young women join her on this journey.
āFor years, people told me a womenās tour wouldnāt work because women donāt sell tickets like men. Then I toured with Cher, and we played for a million people. So bullshit.ā
