Eddie Vedder Dedicates No Surrender to Bruce Springsteen Video

Eddie Vedder’s Tribute to Bruce Springsteen

During a concert in Sydney, Pearl Jam performed Bruce Springsteen’s “No Surrender” as a tribute from Eddie Vedder to the legendary musician.

Vedder shared that while Springsteen was finishing his tour, he would have loved to be there if not for his own show with Pearl Jam. They had been chatting over text earlier that day.

“Bruce Springsteen is magic, and he makes magic, and he works hard to make magic,” Vedder expressed. “And then sometimes it’s easy for him to make magic, but he also has songs of strength,” he added, pointing out how these songs are dependable for many.

He went on to say, “I know for him, as well as us, it’s been a tricky time in our nation back home. We’re going to be OK. It’s just going to take some time, a bit of a reset. But we will lean on music when words fail us.” Both Vedder and Springsteen were supporters of the Harris-Walz team.

Fans often find music a comforting escape during tough times.

Next, Vedder played a solo version of another Springsteen hit from the Born in the U.S.A. album. The two artists had teamed up before, performing “No Surrender” back in 2004 at a concert supporting Vote for Change in New Jersey, where they also jammed to “Darkness on the Edge of Town” and “Better Man.”

Meanwhile, Springsteen and his E Street Band completed their Canadian leg in Vancouver, looking forward to their upcoming shows in the U.K. and Europe this May.
