Megadeth Peter Frampton Concerts Canceled for Safety

Concerts in Virginia Get Canceled

“It’s disappointing when someone you admire talks out their ass about you,” Dave Mustaine said after Megadeth’s two Virginia shows got canceled due to safety concerns.

Last week, both Peter Frampton and Megadeth had to cancel their concerts at Virginia Credit Union Live in Richmond. In Philadelphia, Frampton suggested that the venue suffered structural damage during Megadeth’s soundcheck, saying, “I’m not blaming them — could have been another band — but it looks pretty like it. So, sorry, Megadeth. I had to rat on you.” This didn’t sit well with Megadeth.

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine responded by saying, “It seems Frampton was misinformed about our show being canceled. The decision was purely based on safety. It’s disappointing when someone you admire talks out their ass about you.” Frampton also mentioned bad weather as a possible reason for the cancellation but pointed fingers at Megadeth.

A spokesperson for Megadeth clarified that they couldn’t do a soundcheck because their rigger found damage to the venue’s grid while setting up lights. They said, “It was determined that it was unsafe for Megadeth to hang their production or put the band on stage at the risk of in-house grid failure to support the weight of the touring lighting and sound which could fall on the band, crew members, or audience, as it could cause serious injury or death.”

Fans always get caught up in these misunderstandings and speculations.

The same day the show was canceled, Megadeth announced it wouldn’t be rescheduled. Like Frampton’s concert, refunds will be given through the point of contact.
