Petition Supports BTS Suga After DUI Incident

The Global ARMY Union Supports Suga and BTS

BTS’s Suga has been in the spotlight after a drunk-driving incident, but his fans are standing by him with a global petition.

On Monday, BTS fans from around the world took to social media to show their support. This came after some online voices suggested that Suga should leave the group.

The Global ARMY Alliance declared, “The Global ARMY Alliance supports all seven members of BTS.” This union represents 127 fan groups from South Korea and other countries, making it clear they stand by the whole band.

Back on August 6, in Seoul, Suga fell off an electric scooter. The police questioned him and revoked his license, revealing his blood alcohol level was 0.227, much higher than the limit for license revocation in South Korea. Levels above 0.2 can lead to jail time and fines.

Suga shared the news first on Weverse, apologizing for his “carelessness and wrong action.” Despite no injuries from the incident, South Korean media went wild, spreading false information and sparking national outrage over what many saw as a lenient punishment. Some lawmakers are even pushing to change laws about scooters to treat them like cars.

Fans feel that sometimes the media can blow things out of proportion.

In another apology on August 24, Suga expressed deep regret: “Due to this incident, I have greatly damaged the precious memories I made with the members and fans and put a lot of pressure on the name of BTS. I feel so sorry and painful that it’s hard to express because it’s causing damage to the members and the team. I’m sorry that the members who always trusted me have a hard time because of me,Ć¢ā‚¬Ā he wrote on Weverse.
