More than a year ago, Sexyy Red openly backed Donald Trump, sharing in an interview that pandemic loans changed how many in the Black community viewed him. However, when voting this week for the next president in 2024, she chose Kamala Harris instead.
“I just voted!!! Donāt tell us what to do with our coochies!! #Kamala4President,ā she shared on X. The post had two photos of her with āI Just Votedā stickers on her sweatsuit.
In 2023, she mentioned how some folks in the hood saw Trump: āThey support him in the hood. At first, I donāt think people was fucking with him. They thought he was racist, saying little shit against women. But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money. Awe, baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office.ā Earlier, at the Governorās Ball in New York, she had a big red hat on stage saying āMake America Sexyy Again.ā

After performing, she declared on X that she wouldn’t back any candidate. “Itās Sexyy Red 4 President Iām my own candidate Iām not endorsing anybody period,” she said. Joe Biden was still in the race then. Later, she denied rumors of performing at a Trump rally in Atlanta.
She joins other rappers like Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Jon, who support Kamala Harris. Others like BeyoncƩ, Cher, and Jennifer Lopez have shown support too.
