Sharon Osbourne Criticizes Music Industry Post Liam Payne Death

Sharon Osbourne recently spoke out about the music industry after Liam Payne’s passing.

On Instagram, she shared her sorrow, writing, ā€œLiam, my heart aches. We all let you down. Where was this industry when you needed them? You were just a kid when you entered one of the toughest industries in the world. Who was in your corner? Rest in peace my friend.ā€

Years ago, Osbourne was part of The X Factor as a judge. She wasn’t there when Payne joined at 14, but two years later, he became part of One Direction with the help of Simon Cowell. This band became huge before taking a break in 2016 for solo projects.

Payne often talked about how hard it was to be famous suddenly. In 2019, he told the BBC that he stopped drinking for a year in 2017 because of difficult mental health challenges. “There were a couple of very dark years of me going through extreme peril with different mental health things,” he said. He found it hard to figure out fame and who he was beyond his job.

Fans feel sad hearing about Liam’s struggles.

Mikey Graham from Boyzone also shared his thoughts online, saying record companies should hire psychologists to help young stars. “Fame can be very damaging especially in today’s world,” he noted, mentioning the problems of having lots of money but no real support.

Liam, aged 31, died in Buenos Aires. Reports say he suffered severe injuries from a fall, with narcotics found nearby.

The Security Secretary confirmed his death, explaining that he fell from about 13 or 14 meters, causing injuries that were too severe to survive.

His family shared their sadness through the BBC, saying they’re heartbroken and asking for privacy during this tough time. They remembered him as kind, funny, and brave.

One Direction and its members expressed their grief, calling the news devastating. They promised to cherish their memories with him and sent love to his family and fans. They miss him a lot and shared, ā€œWe love you Liam.ā€
